ABSTRACT
Aim. CRHR 2 gene can be a candidate gene for anorexia nervosa ( AN). The aim of the study was to screen for mutations in exon 1 alpha of the CRHR 2 gene in patients with AN. Material and method. The molecular studies (polymerase chain reaction and direct sequencing) were performed in 20 patients with AN and 10 healthy controls. Results. No genetic variants were found in the analysed region, neither in AN patients nor in the controls. Conclusion. The results do not show mutations within the analysed region of the CRHR 2 gene which may have been involved in the pathogenesis of AN.
